Be a Buffalo
Buffalo herds have a unique behavior that becomes a great analogy for what it means to have courageous mental health. If you have ever lived on the American plains you know about storms. They are majestic and fierce and can be dangerous as they move across the Rocky Mountains. These storms can cause fear and anxiety in herd animals. Cows will become nervous and run away from the storm. Eventually the storm catches up to them. It hits them when they are at their most vulnerable, exhausted, and panicked.
Buffalo, however, gather the herd and charge the storm. Their behavior allows them to get though the storm faster. It reduces the danger to the herd and also reduces their anxiety.
What kind of storm are you facing in your life? It is time to stop running. No more pushing it to the back of your mind and hoping you can just get past it. No more throwing the same ineffective efforts at it and hoping it will work this time. It is time to seek real healing. You don't have to face this alone. I create a safe space where you can understand and process past hurts. Let me help you learn habits that create healthy relationships and effective mental processes that build resilience. I do not believe we were meant to live in a spirit of fear, but one of power and courage and hope.
